Happy Wednesday, lovelies. I sure hope your week started out well!
Spring semester is now in session, meaning I'm back in school after 3 weeks of break. Funny thing: I'm quite excited for school to begin, but I know that the feeling might go away after this week. Haha :)
I was inspired by a look I saw in a magazine. I liked the look, but I had to make it my own. Isn't that what personal style is all about? :) Check out the look below:
The sequin skirt is actually a one-shoulder dress! I've been wanting to wear the dress for a while now, but I wasn't quite sure how to style it.
Never-mind that, because I now have some styling ideas up my sleeves. Stay tuned for that.
After putting this look together, I paired it with a black pointed-toe pumps, but decided to switch it up later. I think the leopard-print shoes was a better fit for this outfit. Don't you think?
By the way, I didn't cut my hair, although it looks like I did. I put my hair in twists and pinned it up for this look. Also, it was too cold that day, so I resulted to taking pictures inside. The above look was worn to church! :)
It's been a while, but My Garments of Praise was kind enough to award MyStyledExpressions, the Liebster Blog award. Since, I've been nominated for the same award before, you can check it out here.
Sometimes, I show sneak peeks of my future blog posts and pictures that won't make to MyStyledExpressions on my Instagram account. I really don't like to do this, but feel free to follow me on Instagram! :)
What I'm wearing:
Shirt: Gap
Sweater: Old Navy
Dress worn as skirt: TFNC London
Necklace: Thrifted
Watch: BigLots
Shoes: Charlotte Russe
What do you like about this look?
How would you style a sequin dress, top or skirt?
Take care! :)

I like the idea of changing a dress to a skirt. I immediately starting thinking of a dress I can do that with.
ReplyDeleteYay!! I hope you have fun with it :)
DeleteI like the sequin dress/skirt!!! Looking good ms seun.
ReplyDeleteWho would've guessed the sequin garment was a dress?! I thought it as a skirt! Good for you for thinking to pair it with a jumper! You've given me an idea now...

Love the way you styled that dress, though I'm curious to see how it actually looks without all the layering. xx
ReplyDeleteMe too! Love your outfit and I'm curious about your hair...did you twist it?
DeleteYes! I also can't wait to style the dress alone.
DeleteNatmane, yes, I did. I twisted it, then pinned it. My hair is still short, that's why it's like 'glued' to my head.
Lovely skirt! My sequin skirt is one of my favorite skirts in my closet. ps. Thank you so much for the sweet comments on my blog! Xo!

Yes, the leopard print shoes go really well with your re-purposed dress. Cute look, Seun.
ReplyDeleteIf you did not say, I wouldn't have known that was a dress! Very lovely and you wore sequins in the daytime perfectly. xx
ReplyDeleteLOVE this look! Saw it on instagram and couldn't get enough of it. Had to come here and get some more lol :)
ReplyDeleteThe shoes are great! Adds the cherry on the cake. The black would have just blended.
The color of the shirt is on point drawing attention to the skirt.
The dress/Skirt idea is genius.I'd wear a sequin skirt/dress in a similar way.
You ROCKED IT!
