My New Life In Christ

Hey fabulous people!

I hope you week started off well. Mine sure did. On January 6, 2013 I got Baptized! Wow! It must have been one of the best decisions I've made so far in this life of mine! I know I probably got baptized when I was quite young. I'm sure I didn't know what it meant, so I'm glad I was able to make the decision on my own. I'm now consciously aware of what it means. I can't begin to tell you how awesome it feels, to know that I've fully handed my life to Christ. Not that I hadn't before, but getting baptized was the seal. My life has been signed, sealed and delivered to God! :)

Great things happened that day, things I didn't even plan for. The Holy Spirit does work in a sneaky way and I'm a living testimony of that. Let's just say God is great. I don't want to go into too much details, so I'll just let you check out my outfit (after getting baptized) on that day. Take a look:

When one gets baptized, you are to get under water. So, those who were getting baptized were advice to wear dark clothing, and something that wouldn't cling unto your body after you get out of the water. That day the look above was what I had already wore, but after my sister saw my outfit she suggested I wear sweats. LOL! Why Sis. Funmi?! :)

Well, the sweats weren't such a good idea, because it held a lot of water after getting out of the water. It's all good though, because I had my towel with me and I was able to change (again) to the outfit pictured above.

As you can see, I had no makeup on. I didn't even fill in my eyebrows! Wearing makeup was not even an option, because it would have smeared off since I would be all wet and stuff. The day before getting baptized, I took out my braids, because I wanted to be all 'natural.' I'm glad I went that route!

What I'm wearing:
Shirt: Thrifted
Pants: Thrifted
Bib necklace: Cut off from an old dress
Belt: eVanity
Glasses: America's Best (yes, they are prescription )
Shoes: Thrifted

Thanks for reading!
Have you been baptized? How did you feel when you were?

Take care! :)

The outfit is so gorgeous on you, I love that necklace and to think it was a DIY from an old dress. It looks so expensive; I cannot wait to see how else you style it...:)

  7. Congrats on the Baptism!

I really love that bib necklace of yours. How clever to cut it off from an old dress and turn it into a necklace! We often forget that old clothes still have good things attatched to them that can be reused. :)

  17. May all that died with you remain dead. May all the blessing of God rise and be alive in you in 2013 in Jesus name. Amen. Congrats. But I must say I am confused. Are you Funmi...Or are you Seun? You both look alike? *confused Salt*. Anyway, what is important is that you totally stay dead to your past and alive to your future in Jesus Christ.

I got baptized when I was a young teen, but I've been thinking about doing it again as a re-dedication of my life to Christ. This is very inspiring to me.

And I love your look! The necklace is too cute and so creative!
